Ticket prices soar ahead of Women’s Final Four

Basketball fans hoping to score a last-minute ticket to the NCAA Women’s Final Four better be expected to pay.

The website of ticket aggregator TicketIQ showed the lowest price for a group of two people to buy an all-session pass — three games — as of mid-day Friday was $851 per person.

Those seats are in the rafters at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland. Lower-level seats near midcourt? Almost $2,700 each.

If you just want to see Friday’s slate of semifinal games, including the highly anticipated matchup between UConn and Paige Bueckers against Iowa and Caitlin Clark, seats range from $454 on the low end to more than $6,200 each, with sellers offering prime seating.

TicketIQ reported that the price is more than double the cost of tickets at last year’s Final Four in Dallas.

Undefeated South Carolina will meet North Carolina State in the other semifinal.

“Clark is leading the way as a demand driver as Iowa competes for its first-ever women’s national championship,” TicketIQ said, per Front Office Sports. “Add to that South Carolina’s pursuit of a perfect season and the rabid fan bases of UConn and NC State, and here we are.”

The men also are playing in the Final Four at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. It’s capacity of about 70,000 for basketball far exceeds the 19,000-plus seats in Cleveland, putting many more tickets on the market. Still, the bottom get-in price on TicketIQ for Saturday’s pair of semifinal games was listed as $415.

On the men’s side, UConn will meet Alabama, with Purdue going against North Carolina State.
