Thymen Arensman collected his first career Tour de France stage win in Stage 14 on Saturday in the Pyrenees.

The 25-year-old Dutch cyclist finished the mountainous 182.6-kilometer trek from Pau to Luchon-Superbagneres 68 seconds ahead of overall race leader Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia. Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark was third after a late pass by Pogacar.

Pogacar, the three-time and defending champion, retained the yellow jersey and gained four more seconds on rival Vingegaard. Pogacar leads Vingegaard by four minutes and nine seconds, with Florian Lipowitz of Germany in third.

With nearly 5,000 meters of elevation, Stage 14 is regarded as one of the most brutal challenges in the race — even without Saturday’s rainy conditions.

Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel, who began the day third overall, struggled early before withdrawing from the race.

Stage 15 on Sunday is a hilly 169.3-kilometer journey from Muret to Carcassonne. The 21-stage race will conclude on July 27 in Paris.
