Before the November elections in the United States, President Joe Biden delivered a commencement address on Sunday at Morehouse College in Atlanta. The college is located in Georgia, which is considered a battleground state for the next election.

During Sunday’s graduation ceremony for Morehouse College, considered one of the most prestigious historically black universities in the United States, President Joe Biden made a plea to African-American voters.

The president informed graduating students that his government is in favor of an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza. This statement was made in reaction to the protests that have taken place on campuses around the country in response to Israel’s war with Hamas.

In his role as president, Biden has placed a strong emphasis on the significance of historically black colleges and universities. According to the White House, his administration has made the highest investments in historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) of any government, totaling more than sixteen billion dollars.
