With their immortal music, The Beatles—often acclaimed as the finest band in rock and roll history—left a lasting impression on the world. Their early 1960s beginnings and their journey together are the stuff of folklore. The band, which was made up of Ringo Starr, George Harrison, John Lennon, and Paul McCartney, enthralled audiences all over the world with their inventive sound and excellent composition. Even though their formal dissolution occurred in 1970, their legacy and music persist. The Beatles once again created history in 2023 when they released their last song, which signaled the end of an era.
The Final Song-A Bittersweet Farewell
The Beatles’ final single, “Now and Then,” is set for release as a double A-side alongside a remastered edition of “Love Me Do,” their debut single. On November 10, fans can also anticipate reimagined and expanded versions of “The Red Album” and “The Blue Album.” Furthermore, a 12-minute documentary titled “Now and Then—The Last Beatles Song” is scheduled to premiere on The Beatles’ official YouTube channel on November 1. This documentary promises exclusive footage and commentary from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, and Peter Jackson, as indicated in the official press release.
McCartney, Starr, and Harrison worked on a 1970s Lennon demo called “Now and Then” for Anthology. Harrison is said to have denied the song due to its subpar sound. The quality was enhanced for the release because of artificial intelligence technologies that Peter Jackson invented for his documentary series Get Back. McCartney explained earlier this year that “nothing has been artificially or synthetically created” on the A.I. assisted track.

The Beatles officially disbanded in 1970, following a period of creative and personal tensions within the group. Each member pursued solo careers, and fans were left to wonder if they would ever reunite. Sadly, the hopes of a full-fledged reunion were dashed when John Lennon was tragically assassinated in 1980.
Over the years, surviving members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr occasionally collaborated on projects, but a full Beatles reunion seemed unlikely. While their individual solo careers were marked by success, they couldn’t quite replicate the magic of their time together as a band.
