It is an exceptional cinematic journey that captivates audiences from beginning to end. Zac Efron portrays the role of the eldest son of the wrestling dynasty, Kevin Von Erich. The way Zac Efron looks in this film is a jaw-dropping state of his physical appearance to get in shape for this film.
One of the finest depictions of professional wrestling ever produced is Sean Durkin’s “The Iron Claw” (A24), which is based on the true story of the sad events experienced by the Von Erich family; this sports film is a stunning achievement.
In the 1980s, there was a wrestling family from Texas called the Von Erichs. They were a group of enormous men who worked under the supervision of their patriarch and wore wrestling boots and trunks. In a time-honored manner, the old man’s disappointment in his lack of success as a young competitor left him resentful and fervently motivated to help his sons succeed. A string of devastating tragedies befell the Von Erichs because of his toxic masculinity and severely dysfunctional parenting.
Initially, I felt irritated by Chris’s exclusion from the film. However, I believe the filmmaker made a valid decision since including Chris would have extended the movie’s duration to three hours. Although I wouldn’t have objected, I found this acceptable.
Although I was aware of the narrative beforehand, I was utterly unprepared for the profound tragedy that Von Erich’s story entails. Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White have shown remarkable talent. I am fervently supporting their bid for Oscar nominations.
