On Friday, Texas authorities arrested a woman for capital murder after they discovered three children dead, and two seriously injured in a home near Dallas. The suspect, Shamaiya Dyonshana Hall of Forney, was later affirmed to be the children’s mother.
According to reports, the 300 block of Harris Street was the site of a home visit by Child Protective Services early in the day, according to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office. They dialed 911 just before 4:00. At around 4:15 p.m., police from Italy appeared on the scene. Five children were found inside the house, severely injured, by an officer.
Inside the home, two 5-year-old twins, one boy and one girl, and a 6-year-old boy succumbed to their injuries. A 4-year-old boy and a 13-month-old daughter were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Soon after, sheriff’s officers detained Hall. Police have not yet disclosed the purpose of CPS’s house visit. Furthermore, it is still unknown how long ago the kids were reportedly stabbed.
Hall is a 25-year-old resident of Forney, Texas, according to the arrest records. She had reportedly stabbed her sister’s boyfriend in 2017, she had previously been detained. At that time, the children had earlier been given to another relative’s custody by CPS.
Hall was taken into custody at the Wayne McCollum Detention Center. A court set a $6 million total bond at $2 million for each charge. She has been taken into custody for attacking someone before.
Reports said that Troyshaye Hall, the identical sibling of Shamaiya Hall, has also been charged with fatally stabbing a child. She was detained in June 2021 after being accused of killing a 7-year-old child. It appears that both ladies have a long criminal history. Following the tragedy, the people of Italy gathered to conduct a candlelight vigil for the kids while mourning with their loved ones. The inquiry is ongoing.
