Mackenzie Mgbako scored 19 points and was one of six Texas A&M players who scored in double figures as the Aggies routed Mississippi Valley State 120-84 on Tuesday night at College Station, Texas.

Texas A&M (5-2) never trailed and maintained its torrid scoring to start the season, surpassing 100 points for the third time this year. The Aggies had not eclipsed the 100-point threshold in any game during their last three seasons.

The 120 points were the second-highest score in a game in program history, trailing only the 127 points Texas A&M scored in a win over Houston Christian in December 1975.

The Aggies won their third in a row and shot 16 for 34 from 3-point range (47.1%) to follow up a school-record 18 made triples in their previous win over Manhattan last Friday.

Michael James was one of the few bright spots for Mississippi Valley State (1-7), scoring 32 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including 7-of-10 success from 3-point range. It was James’ second 30-plus point game this season.

But the Aggies did not allow much thanks to a strong defensive effort, which contributed to 31 turnovers by the Delta Devils. Texas A&M turned those giveaways into 46 points.

Samuel Murray totaled 13 points and Lamont Sams scored 10 for Mississippi Valley State, which lost its sixth in a row.

Ruben Dominguez, who broke the Aggies’ single-game record for made 3-pointers against Manhattan with 10, finished with 15 points on 3-for-8 shooting from beyond the arc. Zach Clemence also had a career-high 15 points, while Jamie Vinson had 12 points and six rebounds. Marcus Hill had 11 points and went 7 for 7 from the free-throw line. Josh Holloway had 10 points and four assists.

Texas A&M’s Rashaun Agee was hit in the face and fell to the court with 13:56 left in the first half. Agee remained on the deck for a few moments, and exited the game after being attended to by team trainers. Agee later returned to the Aggies’ bench, but did not re-enter the game.
