Turning an old April Fool’s joke into reality, Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX released a tequila with the Tesla brand on Thursday, November 5 and it has sold out online within hours.
This Tesla Tequila comes in a unique lightning shaped bottle. It costs $250 for 750 ml. Online customers can order only 2 bottles each but the website shows that there aren’t any stocks left. The company said that stocks will be available till the end of the year
Tesla Tequila is produced by Nosotros Tequila. It has been aged for more than a year in French oak barrels. It has notes of dry fruits, cinnamon, pepper and vanilla. It is a “premium 100% de agave tequila anejo.” It is sustainably sourced. This spirit is best served as a sipping tequila.
In 2018 Elon Musk had mentioned it as an April Fool’s joke on Twitter. He said that he had drunk excessive amounts of a fictional tequila called Teslaquilla after his company had gone “bankrupt.”
Now, Musk has made the joke into reality as he has entered the drinks business not just with a lightning bolt but has also made a splash by selling out initial stocks of Tesla Tequila within hours of its launch.
