Elon Musk has said that he has done his bit to populate the nation but one of his children apparently disagrees and wants to cut ties. The 18-year old child of the Tesla CEO has filed legal documents asking for a name change. The young person wants to drop his famous last name and wants her new name to reflect her gender identity as well as a falling out with biological dad, Elon Musk.
Documents filed in Santa Monica, California reveal that Xavier Musk, the name the young person was given at birth, has turned 18 in April and now wants to be legally known as Vivian Jena Wilson. The hearing is scheduled to take place, on Friday.
The docs filed not only indicated a name change but also brought into public a rift between parent and child. Vivian listed the reason for asking for a legal name change not only because of gender identity. They also said that they no longer lived nor wished to be related to their “biological father in any way, shape or form.”
This is the first time that they have publicly said anything about their relationship or that they wanted to transition. In December 2020, Musk had said that he supported the transgender community. But he had added that “these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare.”
It must be noted that Elon used to support the Democrats in 2020. However, in 2022 he publicly pledged allegiance to the Republican Party. He also moved his operations from California to Texas, which not only has a GOP majority but also has a strong conservative base some of whom oppose transgender rights, abortion rights and more. He has said that he is a fan of governor Ron DeSantis, who passed a bill called “Don’t Say Gay,” in Florida.
Vivian is one of two twins. Their twin brother is called Griffin. Their last name Wilson is from their mother’s name Justine Wilson. Justine Wilson is a Canadian author and is the ex-wife of Elon Musk. They were married for eight years, from 2000 to 2008. The twins were born in 2004, followed by triplets, two years later. All five children have maintained a low profile, until the recent filing. Both Elon and Justin have joint custody of their children.
