Officials announced on Sunday that an 18-year-old guy has been arrested for fatally shooting a Temple University police officer Christopher Fitzgerald, and attempting to rob him while he was on the ground bleeding.
According to the Bucks County district attorney’s office, 18 -year-old Miles Pfeffer was detained early on Sunday morning on suspicion of homicide. The Philadelphia district attorney’s office said that he was accused of killing Officer Christopher Fitzgerald and committing robberies, carjackings, and offenses involving guns.

Around 7 o’clock, 31-year-old Fitzgerald was attempting to thwart a carjacking. Prosecutors claim that he was shot in the head on Saturday night. The entire event was captured on security video, according to reports.
Three robbery suspects were stopped by Fitzgerald, but Pfeffer allegedly fled rather than stopping. Fitzgerald caught up to the youngster, according to a surveillance video acquired by WTXF-TV. Scuffling was observed as Fitzgerald repeatedly told Pfeffer to get to the ground. Instead, according to a tweet from a WTXF reporter, Pfeffer shot the police.

The Bucks County district attorney’s office claimed that Pfeffer was picked up at his family’s Buckingham Township residence shortly before 7 a.m. on Sunday. Prosecutors stated that police used “the fallen officer’s handcuffs in placing the suspect under arrest.”
By Sunday evening, the Temple University Police Association’s online fundraising campaign for Fitzgerald’s family had raised over $80,500; its target is $150,000.
