Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were unsuccessful in their attempt to overturn a Romanian court’s decision to refuse them bail and keep them in custody due to allegations of sex trafficking. Andew, Tristan, and two Romanian women Luana Radu and Georgina Naghel were all detained on December 29 in Bucharest on suspicion of rape, human trafficking, and organizing a gang to prey on unsuspecting victims.
All four people showed up at the bail hearing earlier this month, which Tate anticipated would lead to his release from custody and assignment to house arrest after almost three months in detention. However, the judge denied that bail application and all four filed an appeal. A spokesperson for Tate informed MailOnline that a judge dismissed their appeal against the decision to deny them bail today.
After a Romanian court ruled that the influencer must stay in jail for an additional 30 days on charges of sex trafficking, Tate and Tristan declared themselves “speechless” last week. The Tate brothers, and the two women, will all remain in custody until April 21 because of a judge’s decision to grant prosecutors a fourth 30-day extension on their arrest on March 22.
The four have not yet been officially accused. Tate and Tristan denounced the judge’s ruling last week, claiming that the Romanian criminal justice system had “irreparably harmed” their name and that it would “take years to rebuild.”

The detention has been extended several times. The original punishment was for 30 days of incarceration. Andrew Tate has unsuccessfully challenged the extensions numerous times, even going so far as to ask to be placed under house arrest by filing a bail application, which was rejected.

If the court does not decide to extend their custody once more, as Romanian law only permits them to be detained for a total of 180 days before being charged, reports say. The controversial influencer’s most recent petition was submitted after the Bucharest Court denied Andrew and Tristan’s request for bail at the beginning of March. The brothers are planning to challenge their most recent custody extension as well, and the decision is anticipated on March 31, 2023. The siblings will contest the choice to keep them in custody for an additional 30 days. On Friday, that appeal is expected to be addressed.
