Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone posted a 48.74 to win the women’s 400-meter final at the U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday in Eugene, Ore.

McLaughlin-Levrone led for the entirety of the race before recording the world-leading time, which was also a meet record and her personal best. She was also just four-hundredths of a second away from matching the American record in the women’s 400m, set by Sanya Richards-Ross.

“The greats always push themselves, and I want to be one of them,” McLaughlin-Levrone told NBC Sports. “So I have to push myself and get out of my comfort zone.”

Britton Wilson came in second at 49.79, while Talitha Diggs finished in third, just 0.14 seconds behind Wilson.

Bryce Deadmon won the title in the men’s 400m, finishing the event in 44.22 seconds. He was followed by Vernon Norwood (44.39 seconds) and Quincy Hall (44.41).

The women’s 1500m featured a stunning comeback by Nikki Hiltz, who was in seventh place at the 800-meter mark before clawing all the way back to take the title. Athing Mu and Cory McGee crossed the finish line in second and third, respectively.

Yared Nuguse finished the men’s 1500m in 3:34.90 to take the title, edging both Joe Waskom (3:35.32) and Cole Hocker (3:35.46) by under a second.

–Nick Christie prevailed in the men’s 20k racewalk, finishing in 1:25:30.31 to beat Emmanuel Corvera and Samuel Allen.

–Rudy Winkler’s 79.04-meter heave was enough to take the title in the men’s hammer throw.

–Chris Nilsen (5.91 meters) captured the men’s pole vault by five-hundredths of a meter, edging Zach McWhorter.

–Marquis Dendy’s 8.14-meter leap gave him the title in the men’s long jump.
