Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson had surgery Tuesday to remove part of the meniscus in his right knee.
The team confirmed the surgery but hasn’t addressed a timeline for his return. ESPN reported Johnson could return in 1-2 months.
Johnson, an NBA Sixth Man of the Year finalist last season, tore his meniscus during the first quarter of Friday’s 108-106 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
A timeline was withheld until the surgery was performed to understand how extensive repairs would be, per the report.
The 26-year-old Johnson has a 13.0 scoring average in his first season as a starter. He is in the final season of his four-year rookie contract.
