The Seattle Storm defeated the Dallas Wings for the second time this weekend, downing Dallas 84-79 in Arlington, Texas, on Sunday afternoon.

Forward Breanna Stewart, who scored 32 points on Friday night against the Wings, added 25 more on Sunday to further improve her MVP campaign. The WNBA’s leading scorer put up 20-plus points for the sixth time this season.

Guard Jewell Loyd was right by her side, adding 22 points for the Storm (8-5). Loyd knocked down four 3-pointers on eight attempts.

Allisha Gray led the Wings (6-7) with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Satou Sabally and reserve Teaira McCowan added 13 points apiece and Tyasha Harris had 10 with six assists.

Dallas star Arike Ogunbowale, who scored 23 points two nights earlier, only played 14 minutes Sunday after being ejected from the game in the second quarter. Ogunbowale was sent off the court after she apparently kicked the ball into the stands.

She left with two points on 1-for-7 shooting.

Ogunbowale explained her side of the story on Twitter in the locker room during the game, saying her instincts as a former soccer player means she often stops the ball with her feet in other settings.

“I was in NO WAY trying to kick the ball,” Ogunbowale wrote. “The half was over (and) I tried to control the ball with my feet like I always do if the ball comes @ me fast. To be ejected for something like this is wild. From here on out I’ll try to remember WNBA refs aren’t fans of soccer players.”

Dallas was too much for the Storm to handle on the glass. The Wings outrebounded Seattle 39-23, including 14 offensive rebounds.

But 19 turnovers sealed the third straight defeat for Dallas, who gave the Storm 29 points off their mistakes.

Seattle has now won three in a row.

The Storm will play next Tuesday night at the Minnesota Lynx, while the Wings will be in action on Wednesday afternoon against the Las Vegas Aces.
