eBay has entered into a commercial agreement with Collectors, the parent company of PSA. The series of transactions includes a commercial agreement and acquisitions. Collectors will sell Goldin to eBay, and eBay Vault will be sold to PSA by eBay. The deal is expected to strengthen the experiences of web fans participating in the US trading card hobby (The Hobby).
EBay and PSA have been in The Hobby, providing services for small businesses and collectors. According to a press release by both companies, the new deals are expected to increase customers’ experiences with products focused on their needs and wants.
The new partnership will remove friction, as each brand will offer complimentary services instead of competitive ones. The Hobby will gain from the seamless integration, as both eBay and PSA will have integrated programs.
Grading services will also be streamlined for customers in the US. PSA will also introduce a new service that lets customers list and sell trading cards on eBay during grading. This will increase both the time spent on the market and the quality of the listing.
