Shameik Moore, who plays Miles Morales, Spider-Man, in the upcoming animated film Across the Spider-Verse, expressed hope that he would be cast as the hero in a live-action movie in the future.

Its 2018 predecessor, Into the Spider-Verse, was a huge success at the box office and earned the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
It received high marks for breaking new ground in animation, comedy, and plot. The production notes for the film reveal that Sony Pictures began planning the sequel before the first one was even finished shooting.
“I just feel lucky to be a vessel for this,” Moore said to the ABC.
Miles Morales, the hero he portrays, is a black and Puerto Rican hybrid who gets his Spider-Man abilities from a spider bite.
To be seen and heard is crucial. It’s not anything that can be explained; rather, it’s an emotion and a way of life. “There’s no doubt that experience helps you develop,” Moore argues.
In Across the Spider-Verse, the heroes Gwen Stacey and Miles Morales are reunited and must fight a new interdimensional peril while also contending with the Spider-Society.
The screenplay was written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who previously collaborated on 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie.
“We thought in the first movie we were telling a story of Miles in being a kid becoming a teenager and we thought this would be a story about a teenager becoming an adult,” Miller said to the ABC.
“We began to consider what it is like for children at the beginning of their journey away from their parents.
They’re itching to strike out on their own in search of approval from the wider world.
And that felt like a wonderful way to kick off a story and have it be one where, you know, Gwen gets invited to the cool kids party and Miles doesn’t — feel like a really accessible approach to tell that story, to make a superhero story that’s really for everybody.
