South Carolina will go for its second straight win over an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent when it visits Boston College on Tuesday night for an SEC/ACC Challenge game in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

The Gamecocks (4-3) are coming off a 70-60 win over Virginia Tech at the Fort Myers Tip-Off in Florida on Wednesday. South Carolina nailed 11 3-pointers and was led by Collin Murray-Boyles’ 16 points and eight rebounds, while Zachary Davis and Morris Ugusuk added 12 points apiece off the bench.

Six different Gamecocks made at least one 3-pointer, while Ugusuk matched his career high by knocking down four shots from behind the arc. Ugusuk’s and Davis’ efforts were part of a 32-point performance from South Carolina’s bench.

“Lot of guys contributing, happy to see that,” Gamecocks coach Lamont Paris said. “A lot of decisions down the stretch we needed to make to keep a little buffer there, happy to see that. A lot of good things in this game.”

Murray-Boyles leads South Carolina in scoring and rebounding with 15.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.

Boston College (6-2) saw its five-game winning streak end on Friday in an 88-83 home loss to Dartmouth. It was the first time the Big Green had beaten the Eagles since the 1988-89 season, and Dartmouth pulled off the win by knocking down 17 3-pointers (on 31 attempts).

The Eagles were held to just 5-of-23 shooting from deep (21.7 percent).

“We gave (Dartmouth) some belief. And they fed off that belief,” Boston College coach Earl Grant said. “I thought we came out flat, and we were searching for the right lineup to get the energy level going.”

Despite the loss, the 83 points were the most Boston College has scored in a single game all season. Joshua Beadle led the way with 19 points off the bench, while Elijah Strong had 18 points and five boards.

Boston College is 2-1 all-time against the Gamecocks.
