On Valentine’s Day, a 26-year-old mother was fatally murdered in front of her young children outside of a South Carolina grocery store. Alexandria Cress Borys was packing groceries into her car in the parking lot of the Kroger store in Irmo, South Carolina, when she got into a verbal altercation with a total stranger, according to Borys’ husband Tyler.
The dispute reportedly started when Alexandria Cress Borys was loading groceries into her car outside a Kroger in Irmo on Tuesday afternoon, according to her husband Tyler Borys. Around 4 p.m., he added, the stranger, who had been identified by police as 23-year-old Christina Harrison, drew a revolver and shot Borys in the back.

She was shot to death while their two-year-old and infant were in the car, Tyler Borys stated. He added that Harrison shot his wife when her back was turned after ending the fight. Alexandria Cress Borys was pronounced dead immediately after officers arrived at the scene, according to the Irmo Police Department.
About 90 minutes after the incident, Christina Harrison dialed 911 to report her whereabouts. Charges of murder, carrying a gun without a permit, and having a weapon while committing a violent crime led to her arrest and booking into the Lexington County Detention Center.
Alexandria and Harrison got into a fight before the shooting, witnesses told the police. The women did not know one another, according to investigators, and the argument’s origin is still unknown.

Irmo Police Chief Bobby Dale posted on social media that this was an incident where tempers rose and someone let their “anger get the best of them.” One witness said that “senseless is the only word” to characterize what had happened.
