Sky destroy Dream in fourth quarter to sweep season series

The Chicago Sky outscored the Atlanta Dream by 20 points in the final quarter to run away with a 90-75 win on Tuesday night at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

Candace Parker led the Sky (17-6) with a season-high 31 points and 11 rebounds. Parker shot 12-for-20 as Chicago swept the three-game season series.

Chicago’s Kahleah Copper was strong as well, finishing with 23 points and seven rebounds. Copper shot 9-for-14. The rest of the Sky combined for just 36 points.

Copper scored 11 points in the fourth quarter as the Sky outscored the Dream 30-10.

Rhyne Howard was not herself for the Dream (10-13), scoring just seven points on 3-of-10 shooting.

Atlanta’s Cheyenne Parker held her own in the paint, scoring 14 points and grabbing six rebounds. Nia Coffey and Tiffany Hayes combined for 23 points. Aari McDonald added 12 points off the bench, knocking down three 3-pointers.

Chicago led by 10 in the first quarter before Atlanta cut the deficit to two, 25-23. Atlanta led by eight in the middle of the second quarter and held a 47-44 halftime lead.

Chicago turned it on in the fourth quarter, outscoring Atlanta 30-10.

Atlanta shot nine more 3-pointers than the Sky, while Chicago shot 11 more free throws. The Sky won in the paint, where they outscored the Dream 48-30.

Chicago also scored 22 points off 17 Atlanta turnovers.
