The San Jose Sharks signed forward Alexander Barabanov to a two-year extension on Monday.
Financial terms were not released but The Athletic reported it’s worth $5 million.
Barabanov, 27, had 39 points (10 goals, 29 assists) in 70 games in 2021-22, his first full season in the league.
“Alexander had a very good first full year in the NHL, showing that he is a consistent point producer and playmaker,” Sharks interim general manager Joe Will said in a statement. “Paired with his grit and hard work, he has the potential to improve upon his success this past year.”
Barabanov has posted 47 career points (13 goals, 34 assists) in 92 games for the Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs (13 games).
