Al-Amir Dawes scored 25 points and Dylan Addae-Wusu added 20 points with six rebounds and six assists as Seton Hall defeated Missouri 93-87 Sunday in Kansas City.

Dre Davis (19 points, eight rebounds), Kadary Richmond (14 points, five rebounds, four assists) and Jaden Bediako (11 points, eight rebounds) also had strong games for the Pirates (7-4).

Tamar Bates led Missouri (7-4) with 22 points. Sean East II scored 16 with six assists and Nick Honor added 14 points for the Tigers.

Seton Hall shot 58.9 percent overall and hit 10 of 23 shots from 3-point range.

Missouri shot 12-for-24 from behind the arc, but the Pirates outscored the Tigers 44-30 in the paint.

Dawes got the Pirates started with two early 3-pointers and a floater in the lane. Bates got the Tigers’ offense rolling with two 3-point jumpers, a cut to the basket and a feed to Connor Vanover for a dunk.

Missouri broke out to a 16-10 lead before Addae-Wasu hit 3-point jumpers on consecutive possessions to trigger a 19-5 run and draw the Tigers out of their zone defense.

Dawes and Addae-Wusu hit consecutive 3-pointers as Seton Hall moved ahead 38-30 with 2:37 left in the half, but the Tigers closed with an 8-4 push to cut the halftime deficit to 42-38.

The Pirates kept knocking down shots to open the second half. Davis hit two 3-point jumpers to spark a 13-1 run that increased Seton Hall’s lead to 55-41.

Two baskets by Richmond and two by Davis in the lane — including a thundering dunk — extended Seton Hall’s lead to 63-44.

East fueled a 7-0 surge with a 3-point jumper and a drive to the basket as Missouri cut its deficit to 65-54 with 8:52 left to play.

After Seton Hall increased its lead to 75-56, the Tigers turned up their defensive pressure and used a 14-1 stretch to cut it to 76-70 with 3:32 to play.

But Missouri could get no closer than four points the rest of the way.
