On August 2, Aaron Fulk, a serial criminal who had a list of felony charges against him, beat a 66-year old man with disabilities to death, in broad daylight. Surveillance footage showed that 48-year old Falk brutally attacked Rodney Peterman with a metal rod. He struck him a few times, till he fell unconscious. Eight days earlier, Fulk had been arrested near Tacoma, Washington after he had threatened a security guard, who was working at a Pierce Transit stop.

Fulk reportedly fractured Peterman’s skull and the victim was hit at least three times, on the back of his head as well as on his temple. Although CPR was conducted, Peterman remained unconscious and four days later he died, at the Harborview Medical Center, according to King County prosecutors, as per a report in the Seattle Times.

Aaron Fulk was arrested as he tried to walk away from the crime scene, by a police office, who had been driving east on Pike Street. There is no information, as yet whether he knew his victim. Current investigations have also not pinpointed any motive, as yet.

Court records show that Pierce County Superior Court Judge Philip Thornton had released 48-year old Fulk on his own cognizance, according to a report in the Daily Mail. The judge had asked him not to commit any crime. However, the prosecutor had asked for $10,000 bail, as he had allegedly threatened to kill a city worker. The August killing by Fulk, after getting parole has not only caused outrage but is also being seen as an unwillingness to crack down on crime, in Seattle.

The outlet said that the daytime attack took place at Third and Pike, in downtown Seattle. This location is known as an area where there are violent as well as drug related activities. After this horrific killing early this month, Seattle police have deployed a mobile precinct, so that it could deter criminals.

Aaron Fulk also has a prior conviction in Idaho. He remains in jail and faces an upgraded first degree murder charge, on Thursday, with a $2.5 million bail. The earlier charge was attempted first-degree murder for allegedly striking Rodney Peterman with a metal rod, in front of many witnesses. He has reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charge.
