Tae Davis and Derrion Reid scored 18 points each, leading Oklahoma to a 86-68 win over Wake Forest on Tuesday in an ACC/SEC Challenge game at Winston-Salem, N.C.

The Sooners (6-2) dominated the second half, outscoring the Demon Deacons 49-33 after the game was tight until halftime.

Trailing 46-40 early in the second half, Wake Forest ripped off a 7-1 run with the help of a pair of buckets from Mekhi Mason to tie the score.

But from there, Oklahoma dominated.

The Sooners ripped off a 34-12 surge to run away with the game. Jadon Jones scored the first six points of the run, hitting three free throws and then sinking a 3-pointers.

Davis was also a big part of Oklahoma’s big run, scoring 13 of his points in the second half on 5-of-6 shooting.

After going 3 of 14 on 3-point attempts in the first half, the Sooners were 5 of 11 from beyond the arc after halftime.

The Sooners didn’t just heat up from long distance down the stretch, but they also were efficient overall from the field, hitting 11 of their last 14 shots and winding up at 61.5% from the floor in the second frame.

Wake Forest (6-3) struggled on offense down the stretch, finishing just 5 of 20 from the field over the last 15 minutes.

Oklahoma dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Demon Deacons 42-24. Mohamed Wague led the Sooners with a career-high 14 rebounds.

Though each team had 12 turnovers, Oklahoma outscored Wake Forest 14-5 off takeaways.

Nijel Pack added 13 points for the Sooners. Xzayvier Brown, who was held scoreless in Oklahoma’s previous game vs. Marquette, struggled again from the floor, going just 3 of 11, but finished with 11 points. Wague and Jones also ended up with 11 points.

The Sooners stretched their winning streak to four games, while Wake Forest’s three-game winning streak was snapped.

Juke Harris led the Demon Deacons with 22 points, going 12 of 15 from the free-throw line. Nate Calmese added 13 points in the loss.

Wake Forest had shot better than 54% in each of its previous two games but was a season-low 33.9% from the field on Tuesday.
