MiLaysia Fulwiley scored 19, Sania Feagin had 14, Tessa Johnson scored 11 and Chloe Kitts added 10 for the top-seeded Gamecocks (29-3), who will face the winner between No. 1 Texas and No. 9 LSU in the championship game Sunday afternoon.

Sahara Williams scored 17, Payton Verhulst had 15 points, nine assists and six rebounds and Reyna Scott scored 10 points to lead the No. 5 seed Sooners (25-7), who won their previous nine games.

The score was tied three times before South Carolina grabbed a 23-15 lead at the end of the first quarter, built it to 45-28 and halftime maintained control throughout the second half.

No. 1 Texas 56, No. 9 LSU 49

Madison Booker scored 25 points and No. 1 Texas defeated No. 9 LSU 56-49 in the SEC women’s tournament semifinals Saturday night in Greenville, S.C.

Rori Harmon added 10 points for the No. 2 seed Longhorns (31-2), who won their 15th consecutive game and advanced to play No. 5 South Carolina, which defeated No. 10 Oklahoma 93-75 in Saturday’s first semifinal, in the championship game Sunday afternoon.

Mikaylah Williams scored 11 to lead the No. 3 seed Tigers (28-5). Aneesah Morrow, who set an LSU SEC tournament record by scoring 36 points in a quarterfinal victory against Florida on Friday, had 10 points before leaving the game for good because of an injury to her right ankle suffered early in the third quarter.

The Tigers already were playing without leading scorer Flau’Jae Johnson because of shin inflammation.
