Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal troubles continue to mount as federal prosecutors expand their criminal case against the music mogul, adding disturbing forced labor allegations to existing racketeering charges, CWEB News confirms. Combs, 55, is scheduled to face trial on May 5, 2024, for charges including sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering. The latest indictment, filed as the “S2” superseding document, intensifies scrutiny of his alleged criminal enterprise.
According to court filings, federal prosecutors have bolstered the racketeering conspiracy charge (Count One) with new details accusing Combs and associates of exploiting employees through threats, coercion, and psychological manipulation. The updated indictment alleges that Combs “maintained control” over staff by forcing them to work excessive hours with minimal rest while threatening physical, financial, and psychological harm. Shockingly, one unnamed employee was pressured into performing “sex acts with Combs” under these conditions.
Combs’ legal team swiftly contested the fresh allegations, calling them “unsubstantiated” and part of a “media-driven witch hunt.” However, the defense suffered a minor setback when attorney Jonathan Ricco filed for withdrawal from the case, citing unspecified reasons. The rapper’s remaining attorneys have vowed to “aggressively challenge” the charges.
The Bad Boy Records founder’s legal peril extends far beyond the federal case. Over 25 civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault, abuse, and rape are pending, with plaintiffs including former associates and employees.
In a countermove, Combs filed a $100 million lawsuit against NBCUniversal in February 2024, alleging that Peacock’s documentary Diddy: Making of a Bad Boy defamed him with “outrageous lies and conspiracy theories.”
Combs has been incarcerated since his dramatic September 16 arrest in a Manhattan lobby, where he was denied bail multiple times. He remains held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center pending trial.
As CWEB previously reported, the case has drawn intense public interest, with legal experts noting the rarity of racketeering charges in celebrity prosecutions. If convicted, Combs could face decades in prison. With the trial looming, the music mogul’s empire—and legacy—hang in the balance.
