In Ivins, Utah, on Wednesday, authorities detained Ruby Franke and Jodi Nan Hildebrandt.
After her emaciated son escaped from the house, authorities in Utah detained a lady on suspicion of child abuse. The woman maintained a well-known parenting advice YouTube channel, ‘8 Passengers.’ At her partner’s home, authorities also discovered Ms. Franke’s 10-year-old daughter was emaciated.
Two felonies for child abuse have been filed against Ms. Franke and her business partner.
According to an affidavit submitted by a police officer with the Santa Clara-Ivins Public Safety Department, Franke’s 12-year-old son fled from Hildebrandt’s home in Ivins via a window and rushed to a neighbor’s house to ask for food and drink on Wednesday morning.
According to the complaint, the boy’s ankles and wrists were taped after the neighbor noticed them. After being transferred to a hospital, the youngster was placed on a medical hold “due to his deep lacerations from being tied up with rope and from his malnourishment,” according to the arrest records.
According to court records, Franke was present at the home and knew about the abuse, malnourishment, and neglect since he was visible in a YouTube video shot there and posted two days before the children were discovered at the residence.
Hildebrandt’s counseling company, ConneXions Classroom, recently produced YouTube videos featuring Franke and Hildebrandt.
Bail was denied for Hildebrandt and Frank.
