UBS analysts initiated coverage on Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ:RIVN) with a Neutral rating and a price target of $26.00.
The analysts believe Rivian has significant growth potential, with a forecasted delivery increase to around 500,000 vehicles by 2030, resembling the Jeep brand’s past performance. However, this growth is expected mainly in the latter half of the decade, following the launch of their R2 product.
Achieving positive gross profit and managing cash burn is crucial in the interim. The analysts predict that Rivian can achieve gross margin positivity by Q4/24, but the company may require around $5 billion in new capital in 2025 for further expansion.
