Some rich and famous celebrity stars have shown their support for ex-Republican billionaire, recently turned Democrat Rick Caruso. Earlier, reality star and billionaire entrepreneur Kim Kardashian had extended her support for the Mall mogul who is in the runoffs for the post of LA Mayor. Now, Chris Pratt, whose father-in-law is popular former Republican governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said that he had not been political in the past but was now extending his support to Caruso.
Billionaire Rick Caruso has been a Republican for years before becoming an Independent. In early 2022, he changed his allegiance to the Democrats, just before announcing his run, according to a report in the New York Times. He decided to run for elections in Los Angeles, as a Democrat, in a city that bleeds blue from years.
Now Caruso has reached the runoffs against Karen Bass, who is endorsed by Democratic leaders including President Joe Biden. The Times also reported that he spent roughly three million and his constant advertising on the airwaves ensured that he would reach the runoffs.
Karen Bass edged the billionaire businessman by seven points in the vote taken, in June but was unable to get a 50 percent majority. Now, Rick Caruso is getting endorsements from other billionaires that might improve his chances. Caruso has spent an estimated $100 million in his campaign for mayor, according to some reports. Now, he has gained additional billionaire celebrity power, as wellin the final days before voting.
