Florida rapper Rollie Bands was shot on Friday afternoon, outside his apartment in Tampa, Florida minutes after he dared his critics to confront him. The young rapper posted the challenge on social media and it was fatally answered about five minutes after he mentioned the location where he would be. Although he was rushed to a hospital, he died as a result of his injuries. Social media comments were mixed as supporters and rivals commented on his death.
Bands reportedly posted the following message on Instagram Stories: “A lot of these n – – – – s know where I live at fr. I sleep in peace. If a n – – – a want smoke I’m at my crib in 5 minutes.”
The young rapper also posted his exact location and within 5 minutes he was shot and the suspects fled the scene. Rollie Bands was found in the parking lot of IQ Apartments which is located on Bruce B Downs Boulevard in Tampa, Florida, with a gunshot wound. The shooting took place around 3.30 p.m.
The Hillsborough County deputies said that they had received a report that a man had been shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Tampa. The suspects had already left the scene by the time the report was made.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has asked for information about the shooting or the suspects as they are still at large, when this report was published. Rollie Bands was born in Tampa. He spent his life in his hometown. Some of his hit songs included “Struggle” and “Reminiscin.” Another popular song was “Close Ties.” Bands is survived by a daughter. He had posted a picture of his young child on Instagram and captioned it: “The only person I live for.”
