Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision and doctors are concerned about her health according to a statement from Buckingham Palace. The 96-year old monarch has been dodged by ill health since October. Her royal family, including all her children: Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Prince Andrew have already reached Balmoral Castle, in Scotland, which is the current residence of the Queen. Some of her grandchildren including Prince William have reached Balmoral, while Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are on their way.
The announcement also said that the Queen was comfortable at her royal residence. Many leaders including the Prime Minister of the U.K., Liz Truss, Labour Leader who is the leader of the opposition Sir Keir Starmer and other retired leaders, as well as her citizens, have sent their best wishes and prayers for her health and recovery.
On Wednesday night, the Queen postponed her privy council meeting. On Tuesday, she had met both the outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the incoming Prime Minister Liz Truss of the same Conservative Party, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland instead of Buckingham Palace, in London, England. This was the first time she broke the tradition and met the PMs in Balmoral instead of Buckingham Palace.
Queen Elizabeth is 96-years old. The long reigning monarch has ruled Great Britain and is still the titular head of some countries of the Commonwealth. She recently celebrated her Platinum Jubilee and took part in a comic sketch with Britain’s beloved icon Paddington Bear, which further endeared her to her people.
She has graced several major events in countries around the world as well as in the U.K. She is taking some well deserved rest at Balmoral Castle and is now surrounded by family members. Missing a few events, even though they might have a traditional history through centuries is one hundred percent acceptable as she takes care of her health and spends time with her family.
