Purdue remains No. 1, Arizona rises to No. 2

Purdue remained at No. 1 and Arizona rose two spots to No. 2 in The Associated Press Top 25 men’s college basketball poll released Monday.

The Boilermakers (6-0) held firm after a dominating 86-56 victory over then-No. 15 Texas Tech on Friday to win the Baha Mar Championship in Nassau, Bahamas.

The Wildcats (5-0) won their second game over the third-ranked team this season when they won 71-67 at UConn on Wednesday. Arizona already has three Top 25 wins on the season, including wins over UCLA and then-No. 3 Florida.

Houston (5-0) fell one spot to No. 3, Duke (7-0) rose one spot to No. 4 and the Huskies (5-1) fell two spots to No. 5.

Louisville (5-0), Michigan (4-0), Alabama (3-1), BYU (4-1) and Florida (4-1) round out the updated top 10.

Michigan State (5-0) was the biggest riser of the week, jumping up six spots to No. 11 after its convincing 83-66 win over Kentucky in New York on Tuesday. The Wildcats (4-2) had the biggest fall, dropping seven spots to No. 19.

Texas Tech (4-2) tumbled five spots to No. 20 after the Purdue loss.

Vanderbilt and Indiana entered the poll in the final two spots, replacing Wisconsin and Kansas.
