President Joe Biden of the United States announced the recipients of The Presidential Medal of Freedom. The White House government released the list, which includes entrepreneurs, philanthropists, athletes, politicians, scientists, actors, journalists, activists, lawyers, educators, and other distinguished Americans. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest civilian honor in the nation.
The 19 recipients are as follows.
Michael R Bloomberg
He is the former three-time mayor of New York City and an entrepreneur and philanthropist.
Gregory J Boyle
He is a Jesuit Catholic priest who is deeply involved in turning the lives of thousands of Angelenos with his gang intervention and rehabilitation programs.
James E Clyburn
The former Assistant Democratic Leader and Majority Whip in the US House of Representatives is credited with transforming the lives of millions of Americans and creating a freer nation.
Elizabeth Dole
She has served the country in various leadership positions, and her Foundation supports military caregivers and their families.
Phil Donahue
Phil Donahue is a pioneering journalist and television host who started the first daytime show, Donahue in America, that had audiences for the first time in the nation’s history.
Medgar Wiley Evers (posthumous)
