
Pope Leo recently met with celebrity Hollywood stars and directors according to the Vatican. The American born Pope also revealed his favorite movies. Some of the Hollywood A-listers who had a meeting with the Pope include Cate Blanchett, Chris Pine, Spike Lee, Viggo Mortensen and Monica Bellucci.
The Vatican said that the meeting took place as they wanted to “deepen dialogue with the World of Cinema.” Pope Leo said that he wanted them to continue to work as “pilgrims of the imagination” and to “bring hope.”
The magnificent Renaissance frescoes of the Clementine Hall in the Vatican created an awesome scenario as Pope Leo spoke in Italian to the Hollywood celebrities. It is used as a reception room and is also the site for ceremonies and rituals.

The Sound of Music
The Sound of Music remains one of the most popular American musical drama movies. Although it was released six decades ago, great songs and fantastic backdrops make it eternally popular. Julie Andrews has given a performance of a lifetime as she helps the von Trapp family flee from the Nazis in Austria.
It’s A Wonderful Life
It’s a Wonderful Life was directed by Frank Capra. The 1946 film revolves around George Bailey played by James Stewart. He questions the value in his life as he stands on a snowy bridge. An angel called Clarence shows him the number of lives that have been affected positively by him.
Ordinary People
Robert Redford directed Ordinary People. It shows the struggles of a family that faces immense tragedy. The film features a psychiatrist explaining feelings to a surviving son after his brother dies in an accident.
Life is Beautiful
The 1997 film stars Roberto Benigni as a Jewish Italian waiter turned book seller. He is sent to a concentration camp with his son. He tries to protect his son from the savagery around them, using dance and pretence hoping that his young son would think that it is a game.
