A 50-year-old man from Pontiac has been charged with multiple felonies after he fatally attacked his neighbor. He not only killed the father and husband but also sexually assaulted the victim’s wife and daughter. They escaped to a neighbor’s house and called 911. The suspect was nabbed from the neighborhood by the police and is being held in Oakland County Jail.
The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office said that Timothy Ernest Legard allegedly met William Allison on Wednesday morning in front of his home on Ypsilanti Avenue in Pontiac. The 50-year-old suspect reportedly stabbed Allison with a kitchen knife around 6 a.m. on Wednesday. He then entered the house and sexually assaulted Allison’s wife and daughter.
Investigators said that Allison’s wife was getting their daughter ready for school when the stabbing took place. They managed to escape from their home and called the police. The police found Allison in the driveway. He was fatally stabbed. Officers arrested Legard, who was reportedly walking near the corner of Baldwin Avenue and Walton Boulevard.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said, “The allegations, in this case, are about as sick as they come,” and “disgusting,” and more.
Bouchard said, “I look forward to him being held accountable.”
Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald released a statement that described the attack as “absolutely brutal and horrific.”
McDonald also listed the charges that her office would bring, and they included “First-Degree Murder, First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, and Kidnapping.” These are serious charges and are life offenses.
The Oakland County Prosecutor also said, “We will fight vigorously for justice for this family and to protect the community from those who perpetuate violence.”
Legard has been charged with the following:
first-degree murder
two counts of kidnapping
three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct
one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct
two counts of assault to commit penetration and
two counts of felonious assault.
