Fairfax County police in Virginia have arrested a man who was discovered with an AK-47 in his vehicle on school premises. The incident took place at Dolley Madison Preschool in McLean when 32-year-old Eric Sandow, a resident of Florida, trespassed on the school grounds. Prompted by a concerned community member, law enforcement officials were called to the scene around 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Sandow was apprehended by the police, who subsequently obtained a search warrant to inspect his vehicle. During the search, officers uncovered an AK-47 assault rifle, along with another weapon. The proximity of the preschool to the CIA headquarters is worth noting, as Sandow claimed he was en route to the agency when confronted by the police.
The preschool issued a statement clarifying that Sandow had attempted to gain access to the building in order to use the restroom but was denied entry by the school staff. It emphasized that he never managed to physically enter the school. In response to the incident, the Fairfax County Police Department was quick to intervene, promptly arresting Sandow and seizing his vehicle, which had been parked in the main parking lot.

At the time of his apprehension, Sandow was unarmed and had not made any threats. The weapons discovered in his possession had remained inside the vehicle, indicating that he posed no immediate danger. Authorities have determined that there is no evidence to suggest that Sandow had any accomplices or that he was acting in collaboration with others during this incident.
This is not the first encounter with the law for Eric Sandow. In 2014, he was arrested for domestic battery after assaulting his father, although his father chose not to press charges at the time. Currently, Sandow is being held without bond at the Adult Detention Center, awaiting further legal proceedings.
