A 17-year-old teen from Florida repeatedly stabbed his mother with a pocket knife and struck her in the head with a frying pan and kept banging “until the handle of the frying pan broke.” The teen is accused of attempting to murder his mother because she asked him to clean his room. According to Fox Orlando, Tobias “Toby” Jacob Brewer committed the crime and ran away.
Brewer then fled in a black Kia Rio, which cops pursued until he crashed. On November 30, the adolescent was arrested and booked into juvenile detention after allegedly assaulting his mother. According to the news outlet, his case has been transferred to adult court. Brewer told detectives in an interview that he said he was “upset” because his mother was “constantly on his case about cleaning his room.”
The suspect supposedly does not like cleaning his room and was tired of the victim’s (his mom) constant harping, the report said. Brewer told detectives that he then took his mother’s car keys and money from her purse so he could have money once he left the area.
According to the report, he also texted a friend and asked him to bring a gun to shoot the victim. The friend stated that he would bring a knife rather than a gun. The friend has autism, according to the report.
Brewer led authorities on a multi-country manhunt. The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle crashed into a wooded area, and he was apprehended shortly after. The mother is in critical condition, and when deputies found her, she told them, “Toby did this.”
Gray was airlifted to the hospital after suffering ‘blunt force trauma to the face as well as the back of her head,’ and her nose was ‘almost completely detached.’ Gray’s cell phone enabled police to track him down. Brewer fled in his car with a friend and his girlfriend. He was apprehended after leading cops on a chase that ended with the vehicle collapsing on US Highway 1. When confronted, the adolescent immediately admitted to his crimes.
