Blake Hinson and Nike Sibande each scored 16 points as host Pittsburgh rallied to upset No. 11 Virginia 68-65 on Tuesday night.

The Panthers (11-4, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) have won five straight games and are 4-0 in the ACC for the first time since their first season as conference members in 2013-14.

Jamarius Burton added 15 points and Federiko Federiko had eight points and 11 rebounds for Pitt, which ended an eight-game losing streak in the series with Virginia.

The Cavaliers (10-3, 2-2) saw their two-game winning streak end. Tony Bennett remains tied with Terry Holland for the most wins in Virginia history with 326.

Kihei Clark had 17 points and eight assists, Armaan Franklin scored 14 points, Reece Beekman had 12 points and Kadin Shedrick added 10 for the Cavaliers.

The Panthers fell behind by as many as 13 points in the first half and were down 33-23 at intermission.

Pittsburgh trailed 44-32 with 16 minutes remaining before picking up the pace.

The Panthers used a 14-0 run to grab their first lead of the game at 46-44 on Hinson’s layup with 10:47 left.

A 7-0 spurt that included two Federiko layups put Pitt ahead 60-55 with four minutes to play.

Virginia answered with a layup from Shedrick and a 3-pointer from Isaac McKneely to make it 60-60 with 1:47 to go.

Another Federiko layup and two Nelly Cummings free throws gave Pitt a 64-60 lead with 27.9 seconds left.

Franklin scored for Virginia, but Burton and Sibande each made a pair of free throws to make it 68-62 with three seconds to go.

Beekman’s 3-pointer at the buzzer sliced the final margin.

The Cavaliers scored the game’s first six points before the Panthers put up the next six. Virginia moved in front 27-14 with a 12-2 run that included consecutive 3-pointers by Clark and Beekman.

Burton, who scored 31 in Pitt’s win against then-No. 25 North Carolina on Friday, didn’t get his first points until a three-point play with 3:57 remaining in the first half.

A 3-pointer from McKneely in the closing seconds gave the Cavaliers a 33-23 lead at halftime.
