On Monday, Pippa Middleton, the younger sister of Kate Middleton, welcomed a baby girl along with husband James Matthews. They have a two-year old son Arthur. A family source told PEOPLE that she was born around 4.22 a.m. this morning. She weighed 6lbs. and 7oz. Both the mother and baby were doing well and that everyone was overjoyed over such a happy arrival, according to the source.
The couple had named their daughter Grace Elizabeth Jane. So, she shares a middle name with her Aunt who was born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton. She also shares a name with Queen Elizabeth, who is Kate’s grandmother-in-law.
Like her sister Kate, Pippa also gave birth to her first child in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, the same place where all three of Prince William and Kate were born, on October 15.
Pippa and James were married in 2017 at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield. Prince George and Princess Charlotte, her nephew and niece were a cute little part of her bridal party.
During her first pregnancy Pippa had documented the way in which she had stayed active. She kept up her Waitrose Weekend fitness column and shared little Arthur’s journey alongside her as he attended a baby gym.
In September 2019 she had released an article saying that she had been looking for activities that were more than park walks in the pram. She called their local gym a saving grace.
She added that it was a huge place with enough activities where “Arthur burns a lot of energy in this safe environment and learns many physical skills.”
She was very quiet during her second pregnancy, which was reported in December by Page 6. She had been seen walking with her husband around the quiet neighborhood of their West London mansion and it had been reported that the baby was due in 2021.
Kate and Pippa Middleton’s brother James’ wedding to his fiancée Alizee Thevenet was postponed this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The couple had got engaged last year.
