Pierre Brooks II scored 30 points on 10-for-13 shooting from the floor to lead Butler to a 97-86 win over Georgetown on Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis.

The Bulldogs (12-13, 5-9 Big East) have won three win in a row for the first time since starting their conference slate and just second time overall this season. Four other Bulldogs scored in double figures, including Finley Bizjack with 15 points.

The Hoyas have lost four of their last six games and eight of 11. They were led by Micah Peavy, who collected 21 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.

Butler made 11 of its final 13 shots of the first half, including a 17-5 run. The Bulldogs led 46-35 at the break.

Brooks shined in the half, scoring 17 on 6-of-8 shooting while Bizjack scored 13 of his 15 in the first half.

Thomas Sorber scored 10 in the half for Georgetown (15-10, 6-8), but the Big East Freshman of the Year candidate was helped off the floor after taking a bad fall with 5:39 to play in the half. He went to the locker room and did not return.

The Bulldogs’ hot shooting continued into the second. Butler made 6-of-7 shots from the floor and went on a 7-0 run early in the half to take a 64-49 edge.

The Hoyas responded by going on a 7-0 run to bring their deficit down to six with under nine minutes to go.

That was as close as they got, as Butler made seven field goals in a row while the Hoyas missed 8 of 10. Butler took a 13-point lead and never looked back.

Brooks also hit a career milestone in the second half as he surpassed the 1,000-point mark. That includes the last two seasons at Butler and his first two seasons at Michigan State.

The Bulldogs avenged their 3-point loss against the Hoyas on the road two weeks ago and splits the regular-season series 1-1.
