No. 2 Rory McIlroy is taking the week off after his Masters win, but Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Ludvig Aberg (Nos. 3-5) are also in the field … Fifty-six players made the short trip from the Masters to Hilton Head, including runner-up Justin Rose, who is also one of seven past FedEx Cup champions in the field. … Rose qualified for the RBC Heritage by moving into the Aon Next 10 with his Masters performance. J.J. Spaun, Michael Kim, Maverick McNealy, Canada’s Nick Taylor, Lucas Glover, Min Woo Lee of Australia, Harris English, Daniel Berger and Joe Highsmith also qualified in this manner … Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar, Canadian Mackenzie Hughes and Jordan Spieth received sponsor’s exemptions. Kuchar and Spieth are previous champions of the event.
BEST BETS: Scheffler (+360 at DraftKings) went 69-63-65-68 for a three-shot win over Sahith Theegala last year immediately following his second Masters victory … Collin Morikawa (+1100) has just two top-10s in five starts at the Heritage, but it’s a tournament that rewards top approach players like him. … Schauffele (+1200) quietly finished tied for eighth at the Masters for his first top-10 of the season. The reigning PGA and Open Championship winner placed fourth at Harbour Town in 2023 … Aberg (+1200) had a share of the lead on the back nine at the Masters but a bogey-double bogey finish pushed him to seventh. He tied for 10th in his RBC Heritage debut in 2024 … Justin Thomas (+1800) has a pair of runner-up finishes at the American Express and the Valspar Championship this year, and his T5 at last year’s Heritage was a career-high finish … Russell Henley (+2500) missed the cut at the Masters but posted an 11-shot improvement between rounds (79-68). He has three top-20s at the RBC Heritage in the past four years … South Korea’s Sungjae Im (+4000) was T12 last year and T7 in 2023. Im is coming off a T5 at the Masters, his best showing since January.
