A caddie working for an amateur player competing at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am collapsed on the 11th fairway at Pebble Beach Golf Links on Friday and was rushed to a local hospital for evaluation.

The PGA Tour confirmed the medical emergency in a statement after reports of the episode surfaced online.

The professional players in that group, Max McGreevy and Beau Hossler, were allowed to pause play while the caddie was being tended to and were expected to resume their rounds.

Other details were not yet available.

An ESPN reporter at Pebble Beach showed a picture of an ambulance being driven onto the 11th hole as the caddie was placed on a stretcher. CPR was reportedly administered to the caddie as well.

One of the amateur players in the group — not the one whose caddie collapsed — told ESPN he heard the caddie was “doing better.”

Friday was the second round of the Pro-Am. The first three rounds are contested at three different courses in the area — Pebble Beach, Monterey Peninsula and Spyglass Hill — before the players who make the 54-hole cut return to Pebble Beach for the final round.
