Celebrity couple Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcome second child, baby boy

Instagram brittanylynne

Celebrity couple Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes recently welcomed a baby boy, making them a family of four. They have a daughter Sterling Skye who was born in February 2021. The Kansas City Chief’s quarterback announced the birth in their social media and also posted a cute photo of the toddler. Patrick and Brittany were dating from when she was in the 11th grade and he was in the 10th grade. They got married in March 2022, following which they announced that she was expecting their second child.

In a joint post on Instagram on Monday, the post revealed “Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III” as their son’s name followed by an emoji of a boy with a crown and the date 11/28/22 and the weight 7lbs 8oz. The photo showed a pair of toddler legs wearing a brown and white onsie and resting on a blanket that had mahomes splashed all across it. There was a silver necklace that read ‘Bronze’ in the middle. It was placed on the blanket.

Baby ‘Bronze’ is the third Patrick in the family as the quarterback’s father is a former baseball player and is called Pat Mahomes, so the little toddler might just inherit a love for both football and baseball, while sister Sterling Skye has already inspired her mom Brittany Mahomes who named her activewear collection after her daughter.

On Saturday, Brittany Mahomes had shared a carousel of photos. She posted photos in various poses that showed her belly. She captioned the post: “Can’t believe I’ll soon have 2 little loves.”

Although she is pregnant, the entrepreneur continued to be active. She recently shared items she had loved from the production line of her activewear with her fans during the launch of “Skye Collection” named after the middle name of her daughter Sterling Skye.

She explained the color palette of the collection and said that yellow made her think of “happy smiles and good attitudes” while blue made her think of her daughter Sterling Skye as well as “all the things that the sky entails.”

Now, fans and followers of the celebrity couple Patrick Mahomes II and Brittany Mahomes will look forward to more posts and photos featuring the family of four.

Celebrity singer-actor Jessica Simpson’s incredible weight loss journey is difficult to overlook. Jessica has lost 100 pounds since the birth of her third child, Birdie Mae, in March of this year. The singer flaunted her trim figure in a skintight dress from her clothing line, three years after she lost 100 pounds after the birth of her third child, Birdie Mae.

The 42-year-old shot the camera a smoldering stare as her blonde hair cascaded down her shoulders in loose waves while modeling the bodycon dress, which she paired with layers of bracelets and a long necklace with a green pendant. Her glamorous makeup included black eyeliner, a nude gloss, and blush for a dewy glow.

She revealed on Entertainment Tonight that making small lifestyle changes has greatly aided her. She revealed that small goals were what helped her achieve the main goal. Simpson appeared to respond to fans’ concerns that she was slurring her words in a recent Pottery Barn ad by singing along to her 2020 song Party of One earlier this month.

Simpson addressed her 100-pound weight loss in September, which she achieved in 2019 after having her three children, Maxwell, Ace, and Birdie. The actress revealed to Extra’s Terri Seymour that changing her diet was the key to her weight loss.

Harley Pasternak is her trainer, and she works out frequently. She also adheres to Harley’s Body Reset Diet, which consists of three meals per day to ‘keep the metabolism humming,’ as well as smoothies and snacks. Junk food is uncommon, but she occasionally indulges in sweets such as powdered donuts.

The celebrity walked 14,000 steps per day, according to her trainer Harley Pasternak. Walking has always been shown to be effective in weight loss. There is a widespread belief that walking 10,000 steps not only reduces weight but also lowers the risk of life-threatening diseases such as heart disease. Pasternak reveals that Jessica began by walking 6,000 steps and then increased the number of steps to 14,000. She concentrated on protein-rich meals but never goes without her favorite foods.

FIFA News: World Cup roundup: France, Australia reach final 16

Mathew Leckie broke the deadlock in the 60th minute and Australia advanced to the last 16 for the first time since 2006 with a 1-0 defeat of Denmark in Group D on Wednesday at Al Wakrah, Qatar.

After Leckie finished off a successful counterattack, Denmark’s last best chance came about 10 minutes later when the Danes were called for a penalty after a foul against Kasper Dolberg. Dolberg, however, was ruled offside.

The Socceroos lost 1-0 to Italy in their only previous appearance in the knockout stages 16 years ago.

Denmark got three saves from Kasper Schmeichel but finished at the bottom of the group with one point.

–Tunisia 1, France 0

Wahbi Khazri’s goal against the defending World Cup champion France was bittersweet as Tunisia was eliminated despite its victory in Doha, Qatar.

Khazri, who was born in France, fought through traffic to score in the 58th minute to give Tunisia just its third win in six World Cup tournaments.

France had already booked its spot in the knockout stage and finished on top of Group D with six points, ahead of runner-up Australia based on goal differential.

NHL News: Penguins D Kris Letang out indefinitely after stroke

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang is out indefinitely after suffering another stroke on Monday.

The team announced Wednesday that the 35-year-old veteran is not experiencing any lasting effects but will undergo a series of tests over the next week.

It is not believed to be a career-threatening condition for the three-time Stanley Cup champion, the franchise’s all-time leader in games, goals, assists and points by a defenseman.

“Kris reported symptoms to the training staff on Monday and was immediately taken to the hospital for testing,” general manager Ron Hextall said in a news release. “The test results were shocking to hear, but we are grateful that Kris is doing well. We are thankful to the medical staff and the physicians at UMPC. He is a warrior on the ice, but first and foremost, he is a son, father, husband and friend. His health is our number one priority.”

Letang missed more than two months in 2014 following a stroke. Tests at the time revealed he was born with a tiny hole in the wall of his heart.

He has played 543 games in the regular season and 69 more in the playoffs since that initial diagnosis.

“I am fortunate to know my body well enough to recognize when something isn’t right,” Letang said. “While it is difficult to navigate this issue publicly, I am hopeful it can raise awareness. It is important for me that my teammates, family and the fans know that I am okay. I am optimistic that I will be back on the ice soon.”

Letang has one goal and 11 assists in 21 games this season. He leads the team in time on ice with 23:54.

The Montreal native has played his entire 17-year career with Pittsburgh, recording 662 points (145 goals, 517 assists) in 962 games. He won Stanley Cups in 2009, 2016 and 2017 and trails only longtime teammates Sidney Crosby (1,131) and Evgeni Malkin (1,004) in games played for the franchise.

NHL News: NHL roundup: Alex Ovechkin notches two historic goals

Alex Ovechkin scored two historic goals to lead the visiting Washington Capitals to a 5-1 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night.

Ovechkin netted the 402nd and 403rd road goals of his career to pass Wayne Gretzky for first place on the NHL all-time list. The Capitals forward is seven goals away from 800 and nine from passing Gordie Howe for second place on the all-time list. Gretzky sits on top with 894 goals.

Anthony Mantha, John Carlson and Martin Fehervary also scored for Washington, while Capitals goalie Darcy Kuemper made 31 saves. Nils Hoglander scored for the Canucks, who had won five of six. Spencer Martin made 23 saves.

At 5:35 of the first period, Ovechkin blocked a pass by Quinn Hughes near the Canucks’ net and knocked the puck past Martin to give Washington a 1-0 lead. It was Ovechkin’s 135th game-opening goal, matching Jaromir Jagr’s NHL record. Ovechkin made it 2-0 at 11:52 when he scored on a one-timer from the left faceoff circle, off a pass from Dylan Strome on the rush for his 13th goal of the season.

Mark Scheifele tallied a goal and two assists, Josh Morrissey added one of each and Cole Perfetti recorded three helpers for the Jets, who have totaled 17 goals during their three-game winning streak.

Wheeler’s hat trick was his first since a four-goal effort in March 2019 at Columbus. Hellebuyck was solid all night, making 40 saves while helping the Jets kill three power plays by the Avalanche, who had won four straight road games and eight of 10 overall. Colorado’s Alexandar Georgiev stopped 18 shots.

Flyers 3, Islanders 1

Kevin Hayes scored twice for host Philadelphia, which snapped a 10-game losing streak by beating New York.

Hayes scored the go-ahead goal shortly before the midway point of the first period before icing the victory with an empty-netter in the final minute of the game. Travis Sanheim scored earlier in the first for the Flyers, and Carter Hart made 23 saves.

Noah Dobson scored to give the Islanders a brief lead in the first. Ilya Sorokin recorded 30 saves as New York had its four-game winning streak snapped.

Sharks 4, Canadiens 0

Tomas Hertl scored two goals and Logan Couture had a goal and an assist to lead San Jose over host Montreal.

Matt Nieto also scored for the Sharks, who received two assists from Kevin Labanc, while Kaapo Kahkonen made 28 saves to post his first shutout of the season. Jake Allen made 20 saves for the Canadiens, who went 0-for-6 on the power play.

The Sharks won for just the second time in their past seven games, while Montreal had its two-game winning streak end while getting shut out for the second time this season.

Predators 2, Ducks 1 (OT)

Roman Josi scored at 3:50 of overtime to give Nashville a win against visiting Anaheim.

Colton Sissons also scored, Matt Duchene had two assists and Juuse Saros made 34 saves for the Predators, who had to postpone their previous two games because a broken water main flooded Bridgestone Arena. Nashville had not played since a 3-0 loss at the Detroit Red Wings on Nov. 23.

Troy Terry scored and John Gibson made 39 saves for the Ducks, who have lost six of their past seven.

Flames 6, Panthers 2

Dillon Dube tallied a goal and two assists and Dan Vladar made 31 saves as Calgary recorded a win over visiting Florida.

The victory ended Calgary’s three-game winless streak (0-2-1). Jonathan Huberdeau, Rasmus Andersson, Tyler Toffoli and Andrew Mangiapane each had a goal and an assist for Calgary. Noah Hanifin had two assists, and Brett Ritchie scored the Flames’ other goal.

Nick Cousins and Sam Reinhart scored for the Panthers, who are on a three-game winless streak (0-1-2) of their own.

Hurricanes 3, Penguins 2 (OT)

Brett Pesce scored on a two-on-none rush at 2:20 of overtime as visiting Carolina beat Pittsburgh to claim a second win in a row.

Andrei Svechnikov had a goal and an assist, Martin Necas also scored, Pesce added an assist and Sebastian Aho had two assists for the Hurricanes, whose mini-streak comes after a five-game skid (0-1-4). Pyotr Kochetkov made 30 saves.

Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel each posted a goal and an assist for the Penguins, who have lost two straight following a five-game winning streak. Tristan Jarry, who had won four starts in a row, made 36 saves. The Penguins played without top defenseman Kris Letang, who was a surprise lineup scratch due to illness.

Bruins 3, Lightning 1

Taylor Hall registered his first two-goal game of the season as Boston beat visiting Tampa Bay.

Brad Marchand slid home an empty-net goal with 41 seconds left to secure the victory, and Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman made 27 saves, improving to 4-1-0 in his past five decisions. Boston stayed perfect at home at 13-0-0, an NHL record for the best-ever home start.

After logging a two-goal game Monday in Buffalo, Steven Stamkos scored Tampa Bay’s lone goal in the third period on Tuesday. The tally left him one shy of the 1,000-point mark for his NHL career. Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 23 shots, but the Lightning lost for just the second time in eight games.

NHL News: Kraken outlast Kings for wild 9-8 OT win

Andre Burakovsky scored a power-play goal at 2:08 of overtime as the Seattle Kraken defeated the host Los Angeles Kings 9-8 Tuesday night, the highest-scoring game of the NHL season.

Burakovsky, Matty Beniers and Jared McCann each scored twice for the Kraken, who broke a franchise record with their sixth consecutive victory.

Alex Wennberg added a goal and two assists and Daniel Sprong had one of each for Seattle. Oliver Bjorkstrand also scored, Jordan Eberle had four assists and Justin Schultz had three. Martin Jones stopped just 27 of Los Angeles’ 35 shots but still got the victory.

Burakovsky’s winner, on a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle off a pass from Eberle, came after the Kings received a bench minor for too many men on the ice.

The Kings lost for the fifth time in six games and missed a chance to move into a second-place tie with Seattle in the NHL’s Pacific Division.

Gabriel Vilardi scored twice for Los Angeles, with Anze Kopitar, Adrian Kempe, Sean Durzi and Mikey Anderson adding a goal and an assist apiece. Viktor Arvidsson and Carl Grundstrom also scored, Kevin Fiala had four assists and Drew Doughty added three.

Jonathan Quick stopped 9 of 14 shots before being relieved at 4:55 of the second period. Cal Petersen made 12 saves on 16 shots the rest of the way.

The Kings tied it at 8 on third-period goals by Durzi and Anderson.

Durzi tallied at 11:36 on a shot from the left point that deflected off the stick of a Seattle defenseman. Anderson got the equalizer at 13:39 on a shot through a screen from the top of the right faceoff circle. That was the NHL-record-matching sixth tying goal of the game, with the Kings accounting for five of them.

The Kraken led 8-6 after a free-wheeling second period.

Seattle took a 7-5 lead on unassisted goals by Sprong and Bjorkstrand at 7:27 and 9:50, respectively.

Vilardi scored on a tip-in at 15:41 to pull the Kings within one before Burakovsky scored on a wrist shot through a screen from the top of the right faceoff circle at 19:38.

The score was 3-3 after the first period.

The last NHL game with at least 17 goals was the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 10-7 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Feb. 26. The NHL record for goals in a game is 21, accomplished in 1920 and 1985.

NHL News: Tempe, Ariz., city council sends Coyotes’ arena plan to voters

The Arizona Coyotes moved closer to landing a new home when the Tempe, Ariz., city council approved the team’s proposed plan for an arena and entertainment district.

The 7-0 approval now moves the proposal to Tempe voters in a special election in May to give final authorization of the plan.

The Coyotes maintain they will spend $2.1 billion in private funds to build the 46-acre project. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman attended the council meeting on Thursday, stating that taxpayer money won’t be used.

Bettman said, according to AZFamily.com, “We’re very respectful of the process. And we believe when people understand the merits of this project it will get widespread support.”

The commissioner added, “If you go back over the last 25 years, our commitment to Arizona has never wavered, and hopefully, we can get to a place where a new arena here will be a reality. We know this is a great market, and they are great fans, and this is a place we want to be.”

Following the council’s vote, Coyotes president and CEO Xavier A. Gutierrez said in a statement, “This was a great night. The Arizona Coyotes and the Meruelo family (who own the team) are deeply thankful to the Tempe City Council for their unanimous support and cannot wait to move forward on this transformational development.

“The Tempe Entertainment District will be a huge win for this community, and we have no doubt that Tempe voters will agree. Our project will turn a landfill into a landmark — and one that not only provides a wonderful home for the Coyotes but also serves as a vibrant town square for Tempe, generating thousands of sustainable jobs and millions of dollars in tax revenue for the City.

“We look forward to sharing more information over the coming months. But, for now, we are grateful and excited.”

The Coyotes played in Phoenix’s America West Arena, now known as the Footprint Center, from 1996-2003, then played in Glendale (Ariz.) Arena, also known as Gila River Arena, from 2003 through last season. This season, they are holding their home games at Arizona State University’s new 5,000-seat Mullett Arena, by far the smallest venue in the NHL.

NHL News: As Sharks visit, Mitchell Marner goes for Maple Leafs’ record

Mitchell Marner will try to match the Toronto Maple Leafs’ record of 18 straight games with at least one point Wednesday night against the visiting San Jose Sharks.

Marner scored in the Maple Leafs’ 4-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Monday as the Leafs completed a 4-0-0 road trip.

The Sharks opened their own four-game trip Tuesday night with a 4-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

During his 17-game points streak, Marner has six goals and 17 assists. Darryl Sittler (Jan. 26 to March 8, 1978) and Eddie Olczyk (Dec. 2, 1989, to Jan. 8, 1990) each had 18-game point streaks, the longest in Maple Leafs history.

“It’s a hard league, man,” Marner said. “I’m not expecting this every night. It’s more important (to get) wins; that’s what we have been doing, and that’s why this feels great.

“Nothing is ever achievable in this game by yourself. It’s always kudos to your teammates. I’m trying to find spots where I can get the puck in my hands to make plays and try to find people in open ice.”

Matt Murray made a season-high 42 saves Monday against the Red Wings.

“This was not our best game of the trip — credit to Detroit,” Maple Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe said. “They made life hard on us to get out of our zone, but our goaltending was outstanding again. We defended way too much, but especially in periods 2 and 3, we did not give up the big chance. The guys did a good job of allowing Matt to see the puck.”

The Maple Leafs have been coping well with injuries to defensemen Morgan Rielly (knee), TJ Brodie (oblique) and Jake Muzzin (neck).

“The team game is making everybody better,” Keefe said. “There are a lot of teams that deal with a lot of injuries and find a way to win. We’re a good enough team that we’re going to find our way on the right side of it.”

The Sharks placed goaltender James Reimer (lower-body injury) on injured reserve Monday and recalled forward Jeffrey Viel from the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League. Viel played seven minutes, 22 seconds on Tuesday with no points and one minor penalty.

Sharks goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen stopped 28 shots in Montreal to earn his third career shutout. Kahkonen has a 3-5-2 record with an .884 save percentage.

“That’s great, but it also tells a lot about the way we played as a team tonight,” Kahkonen told NBC Sports California about his first Sharks shutout. “Huge blocks, huge kills, good sticks on the (penalty kill), taking away seams and boxing out guys so I could see pucks.”

The Sharks won for just the second time in their past seven games (2-4-1).

“We needed (the win),” Sharks coach David Quinn said. “Obviously, it was a funny game. We haven’t had that type of game in a long time, so special teams were huge, our penalty kill was huge.”

Aaron Dell, recalled from the Barracuda last weekend, was the backup goaltender on Tuesday.

Center Nico Sturm (head) and defensemen Mario Ferraro (lower-body injury) are also on IR.

NHL News: Alex Ovechkin has historic night as Capitals club Canucks

Alex Ovechkin scored two historic goals to lead the visiting Washington Capitals to a 5-1 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night.

Ovechkin netted the 402nd and 403rd road goals of his career to pass Wayne Gretzky for first place on the NHL all-time list.

The Capitals forward is seven goals away from 800 and nine from passing Gordie Howe for second place on the all-time list.

Anthony Mantha had a goal and an assist for the Capitals, who snapped a six-game road losing streak (0-4-2) and have won three of their past four overall. Darcy Kuemper made 31 saves.

Ovechkin made it 2-0 at 11:52 when he scored on a one-timer from the left faceoff circle, off a pass from Dylan Strome on the rush. In addition to breaking Gretzky’s record, it was his 13th goal of the season.

Hoglander pulled the Canucks within 2-1 at 13:55, when he got a feed from J.T. Miller, skated to the front of the net and sent a backhand shot past Kuemper.

Washington answered quickly when Mantha found himself alone in front after another Canucks turnover; he scored at 14:35 off a centering pass from Marcus Johansson along the left wall.

At 18:47 of the second period, John Carlson received a pass from Nic Dowd and scored on a wrist shot from the slot to make it 4-1. Carlson has five goals since returning to the lineup on Nov. 11 after missing six games with a lower-body injury.

Ovechkin nearly finished off a hat trick but hit the crossbar in the opening minute of the third period.

The Canucks pulled Martin at 13:09 of the third period, and Martin Fehervary scored into the empty net at 15:57 for the 5-1 final.

NHL News: Flames ruin Matthew Tkachuk’s return with Panthers

Dillon Dube tallied a goal and two assists and Dan Vladar made 31 saves as the Calgary Flames recorded a 6-2 win over the visiting Florida Panthers on Tuesday.

The victory ended Calgary’s three-game (0-2-1) winless streak. The Flames had scored just three goals over those three defeats, but they matched that total with three goals in the opening period against Florida. The six goals matched the Flames’ highest-scoring game of the season.

Jonathan Huberdeau, Rasmus Andersson, Tyler Toffoli and Andrew Mangiapane each had a goal and an assist for Calgary. Noah Hanifin had two assists, and Brett Ritchie scored the Flames’ other goal.

Nick Cousins and Sam Reinhart scored for the Panthers, who are on a three-game (0-1-2) winless streak of their own.

Florida is 1-3-3 over its last seven games, a slump that includes both a regulation loss and a shootout loss to the Flames. Calgary earned a 5-4 shootout win over the Panthers in Sunrise, Fla., on Nov. 19.

On Tuesday, Sergei Bobrovsky allowed six goals on just 23 shots, continuing a tough season for the veteran goalie. Bobrovsky has an .875 save percentage over 12 games.

Vladar stopped 31 of 33 shots for his second win. Normally Calgary’s backup goaltender, Vladar was making consecutive starts for the first time this season.

Huberdeau spent his first 10 seasons with the Panthers before being dealt to Calgary in the blockbuster offseason deal that brought Matthew Tkachuk to Florida.

In his first game in Calgary since the trade, Tkachuk had two shots on goal. Tkachuk was held without a point for just the fifth time in 21 games this season.

The Flames scored in three separate fashions during their big opening period: short-handed (Dube), on the power play (Huberdeau) and in regulation 5-on-5 play (Andersson).
