Several prescribed antibiotics are associated with a higher risk of miscarriage in early pregnancy, a new study published Monday in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) has found. However, while antibiotics like macrolides, quinolones, tetracyclines, sulfonamides and metronidazole were among those linked to a 60 per cent to two-fold increased risk of miscarriages, others like erythromycin and nitrofurantoin were not.
Women who take certain types of antibiotics during early pregnancy may be at increased risk of miscarriage, a new study suggests. But not all antibiotics are alike, and some antibiotics may be safer during pregnancy than others. Researchers in Canada found that mothers-to-be who used certain classes of antibiotics had a small increase in risk of miscarriage before the 20th week of pregnancy compared with pregnant women who did not take any antibiotics, according to the study published today

A U.S. service member who died when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was on patrol outside the northern Iraqi city of Mosul was identified on Sunday as 1st Lieutenant Weston Lee.

Earlier this evening a man opened fire at the La Jolla Crossroad Apartment complex in San Diego, California, hospitalizing eight people. The identity of the suspect has not been confirmed, but he has been described as a white male, wearing brown cargo shorts.
After frantic 911 calls were received, a police helicopter reportedly saw the man “reloading his gun at the pool.“
Police approached, and the gunman opened fire at them. Police then returned fire, killing him at the scene.

Ueli Steck is and will forever be known as a legend in the sport of climbing in mountaineering. The sport of climbing and mountaineering continues to lose its legends one after another. Mountaineering and climbing will forever be dangerous and cutting edge sports, but in a big way I’m inspired and motivated by those who live their life to the fullest as Ueli Steck did. Nanning China US businesswoman deportation – CWEB.com
A Chinese court has convicted American businesswoman Sandy Phan-Gillis for spying and ordered her deportation. Phan-Gillis was sentenced to three and a half years in prison by a court in Nanning, but it is unclear if she will have to serve the time. She was arrested in March 2015 while travelling with a business delegation from Texas through mainland China.
One of her lawyers, Shang Baojun, said she pleaded guilty Tuesday to espionage charges in a closed court hearing in the southern Chinese city of Nanning.’
‘China hasn’t publicly released details of the allegations against her. Shang said he wasn’t permitted to reveal further information about the case without official approval because it concerns national security.’
