Jean Francois Jalkh Holocaust controversy – CWEB.com
It was reported today that Jean-Francois #Jalkh has stepped aside after allegations of questionable remarks about Nazi gas chambers.
Jean-François Jalkh had been named as the interim president on Tuesday after Marine Le Pen stepped aside to fight for the French presidency.
Mr Jalkh denies claims that in past remarks he questioned the reality of Nazi gas chambers.
He is being replaced by Steeve Briois, one of the party’s MEPs.
Like Mr Jalkh, Mr Briois is also one of the party’s five vice-presidents. He is mayor of the National Front-run town of Henin-Beaumont in northern France.
French presidential hopeful Marine Le Pen temporarily stepped down as leader of the far-right National Front this week, in what has been widely viewed as a strategic political move ahead of the election to distance herself from the party’s controversial past. Today Angela Merkel has warned British politicians to rid themselves of “illusions” over the UK’s status after Brexit, as she takes a hard line ahead of negotiations.
The German Chancellor told cheering Bundestag members Britain would become a “third-party state” after its departure and could not expect to enjoy the same rights as remaining nations.
“Countries with a third country status — and that’s what Great Britain will be — cannot and will not have the same or even more rights as a member of the European Union. Ladies and gentlemen,” she continued, “you may think that all this is self-evident. But I have to put this so clearly because I get the impression that some in Great Britain still have illusions about this, and that is a waste of time.”
Today the Turkish coast guard said all 78 personnel involved in a Russian navy ship’s collision with a freighter on Thursday have been rescued.
At least 15 Russian soldiers were initially reported missing after their warship collided with a freighter off Istanbul, in the Black Sea, according to Turkish media reports. Rescue boats and helicopters had been dispatched to the area. The freighter involved in the collision was reportedly carrying livestock. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

They look at him floundering away in the Commons and they say to themselves: Nah – that guy? PM?
They watch his meandering and nonsensical questions and they feel a terrible twinge of human compassion.
Well, they say to themselves: he may be a mutton-headed old mugwump, but he is probably harmless.
Do you have those feelings? Have you ever thought the leader of the Opposition is an essentially benign Islingtonian herbivore?
He will not fight against North Korea and he is weak against ISIS. ISIS needs to be stopped so they cannot come and destroy the Europe and the European Union which with help of Russia they have done so.
