John Geils, the guitarist and namesake of the J. Geils Band, has died. He was 71.
Boston’s WCVB says that he was found dead in his home in Groton, Mass., where he had lived for 35 years. As of now, the cause of death is unknown. The station’s Kathy Curran tweeted that police responded to a call to check on his well being. They do not suspect foul play.
Today anyone who knew their rock and roll in the 1970’s and 80’s will be saddened to learn that we lost another iconic rocker today with the confirmed death of John Warren Geils Jr. better known as the founder and leader of the J. Geils Band!!!
Well he will never have to worry about how his “Love Stinks” for his “Centerfold” girl ever again but at least he did leave behind the “Freeze Frame” photos of her! RIP Mr. Geils!!!

Pope Francis has also provided sleeping mattresses that homeless people can use and are able to sleep right in the Vatican. And, of course, he provides food, medical care, as well as showers and other personal needs for many of Rome’s homeless population. The Vatican is a tiny country. There are so many other wealthy cities all over the United States that could do the same. You know how it should go….feed the homeless, clothe the poor…..there but for the least of us…….the Pope should be an example for other religious figures.
