We are sorry to learn of Demme’s death. He was so young. He was a terrific film maker. SILENCE OF THE LAMBS is a masterpiece, in my opinion.

Following news of Jonathan Demme’s death on Wednesday, members of Hollywood remembered the famed director with touching notes on social media. Demme, who was 73, directed the Oscar-winning movie “Philadelphia,” starring Tom Hanks, but was perhaps best known for his work on “Silence of the Lambs,” which won five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director. Everyone from Billy Eichner to Thandie Newton took to social media to share their memories and condolences.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin unveiled his tax plan proposed by President Donald Trump.
“We want to simplify the personal tax system, lower taxes, and create economic growth.
“Small businesses would see their top tax rate go from 39.6 percent to the proposed corporate tax rate of 15 percent, said Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin in a Wednesday morning speech.”
If your “small business” makes more than $48,000 a year, then there is a tax cut, if this proposal is to convert tax on Schedule C (profit or loss from business) from the individual to the corporate tax rate. This applies only to sole proprietorships or partnerships. An incorporated business will have a tax cut, no matter the net income.

Air Force unarmed test missile – CWEB.com
It was reported that the missile lifted off at 12:03 a.m Wednesday from Vandenberg Air Force Base, 130 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
An Air Force statement said the mission was part of a program to test the effectiveness, readiness, and accuracy of the weapon system.
The 30th Space Wing commander, Col. John Moss, said Minuteman launches are essential to verify the status of the U.S. nuclear force and to demonstrate the national nuclear capabilities.
In a Minuteman test, a so-called re-entry vehicle travels more than 4,000 miles downrange to a target at Kwajalein Atoll near the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

Today Twitter reports 6 percent increase in monthly active users sending its shares up 11 percent. The micro blogging service said average monthly active users increased 6 percent to 328 million in the first quarter from a year earlier. Analysts on average had expected 321.3 million monthly active users, according to market research firm Fact Set Street Account.
