Why Analyst Are Bullish On GE – CWEB.com

Why Analyst Are Bullish On GE – CWEB.com

  • General Electric (NYSE:GE) shares   have fallen, says William Blair analyst Nicholas Heymann, who expects the stock to rise ~50% this year after crashing 52% in the past 12 months.
  • Despite overwhelmingly negative media sentiment, Heymann foresees no further dividend cut or share issuance to raise money, and he expects GE’s planned sale or exit from underperforming businesses valued at $20B to net the company $12B-$15B in cash by the end of 2019.
  • Nicholas Heymann expects more turmoil ahead as GE continues to work through its problems but he also believes CEO John Flannery’s moves to “reset everything” and simplify the business will enable the company to lift its annual cash flow to “the mid teens” in billions of dollars by 2020.
  • General Electric (NYSE:GE) announces plans to   invest more then $500 Million  over the next 3-5 years to develop the world’s largest, most powerful offshore wind turbine.

GE says the Haliade-X turbine will feature a 12 MW direct drive generator and produce 45% more energy than any other offshore turbine; one turbine would generate up to 67 GWh annually, enough clean power for up to 16K households per turbine and up to 1M European households in a 750 MW wind farm configuration.

  • GE has told also investors that it is keeping its stake in Baker Hughes (NYSE:BHGE) , contrary to its previous statement.

We explore the possibility of a deal where GE acquires the remaining 35% of Baker Hughes (NYSE:BHGE)   it does not own currently.

CWEB Analyst have initiated a Buy Rating for (NYSE:GE  ) and a Price Target of $28 within 12 months.

Gap is a well-diversified apparel company that is showing clear signs of a turnaround after the negative performance of the last few years.

The solid balance sheet, the healthy cash flows, the good dividend yield, the depressed multiples and the recent guidance are enough to place a bet on this turnaround play.

Industrial Shares Take A Hit After The Impact Of White House Tariffs Weighs In – CWEB.com

Industrial shares and stocks are taking a hit into the final hour of trade amid concerns that the policy of White House has changed on imported steel and aluminum and could ignite a trade war: MTW -6%, CMI -4.4%, RRD -4.1%, LMT -3.8%, SWK-3.5%, CHRW -3.4%, BA -3.4%, UTX -3.2%, CAT -3%, EXPD -2.9%, NOC-2.9%, RTN -2.8%, SNA -2.8%, PCAR -2.8%, TXT -2.7%, ROK -2.5%.

“Meanwhile, any inflationary impulse from higher tariffs depends on whether firms view the increase as permanent and if the current state of the business cycle would contribute to a high pass-through rate from tariffs to final goods,” Barclays says.

Spotify is going public on the NYSE – CWEB.com

Spotify expects to list its ordinary shares under the symbol (NYSE:SPOT)

In terms of control: The company is issuing 10 beneficiary certificates (each worth one vote) for each share of record held by “entities beneficially owned by” the company’s founders, Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon. That will result in a total of 379.2M beneficiary certificates.

As expected, the company is listing without underwriters. It has a placeholder amount of $1B.

The company’s engaged Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Allen & Co. to serve as advisers on some matters tied to its listing.

Shareholders will be guided towards an opening share price via private market transactions, which CNBC reports are rumoured to be around $US132 per share, giving the company a valuation of over $US23 billion ($29.6 billion). Spotify has 176,976,280 ordinary shares outstanding, according to its filing.

Spotify had an operating loss of $462 million in 2017, up from $426 million the previous year, even though its revenue increased from $3.6 billion to $5 billion during the same period.

The company revealed that it’s paid $9.8 billion in royalties to artists, music labels, and publishers since its launch a decade ago.

Spotify remains a long way from making money as of today but things can change with the new IPO.

SEC launches sweeping investigation into cryptocurrencies – CWEB.com

The SEC has investigations and information requests in a sweeping probe of technology companies and advisers involved in the booming market for digital tokens,  WSJ  reports.

The investigation significantly ratchets up the regulatory pressure on the booming U.S. market for raising funds in cryptocurrencies.

Coin offerings raised $6.5B in 2017 and more than $1.6B so far this year despite a crash in the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Amazon Is Acquiring Doorbell Video Camera Startup Ring – CWEB.com

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) will buy video doorbell startup Ring for an undisclosed amount. Both companies confirmed the news.

Amazon acquires another company right here in Santa Monica for a mere $1 Billion.

Ring reportedly has a valuation around $1Billion.

Walmart (NYSE:WMT) previously made a play for Ring while Amazon offered $100M for smart doorbell company August in 2016. August declined, and Amazon developed the Amazon Key system.

The Ring purchase should help Amazon’s overall hardware business, but it’s also a not-so-subtle attempt to counter Google Nest team.

“Ring is committed to our mission to reduce crime in neighborhoods by providing effective yet affordable home security tools to our Neighbors that make a positive impact on our homes, our communities, and the world,” Ring said in a statement.

“We’ll be able to achieve even more by partnering with an inventive, customer-centric company like Amazon.”

Comcast Murdoch Sky And Why Is Comcast A Good Buy – CWEB.com

Comcast Murdoch Sky And Why Is Comcast A Good Buy – CWEB.com

Comcast is a $184 billion media giant which owns NBC and Universal Pictures.

Comcast said it was offering 12.50 pounds per share significantly higher than Fox’s.

Britain’s competition regulator said in January that Murdoch’s planned takeover should be blocked unless a way was found to prevent him from influencing the network’s news operation, Sky News.

That has complicated a separate $52 billion deal by Disney to buy Fox assets including Sky.

Comcast intends to use Sky as a platform for growth in Europe,” said Comcast CEO Brian Roberts. “We already have a strong presence in London through our NBC Universal international operations, and we intend to maintain Sky’s UK headquarters.”

In a brief reaction to Comcast’s (CMCSA  -5.7%) topping bid for Sky (SKYAY+20.4%), Fox (FOX  -2.9%,  FOXA  -2.6%) says it’s staying the course.

OTCQX:SKYAY  is  up 20.5%  after  news of the £22.1B offer, a 16% premium over Fox’s bid to take over the remainder of Sky — a price differential suggesting Sky investors may be gearing up for a bidding war. Meanwhile:  FOX-1.8%;  FOXA  -1.5%.

Disney (NYSE:DIS), which was set to take over Fox assets including Sky, is also swept up in deal complications and is  down 2.8%.

Comcast excess cash flow most likely to be used for large buybacks.

Comcast shares are cheap on an FCF yield basis.

CWEB Analyst’s have initiated a Buy rating for (NASDAQ:CMCSA) and a Price Target of $99 within 12 months.
