Team Falcons swept Al Qadsiah 4-0 to win the Overwatch Champions Series’ Midseason Championship on Sunday at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The title in the $1 million tournament, which was part of the Esports World Cup, was worth $400,000 plus 1,000 EWC club points.
In the title match, Team Falcons prevailed 2-0 on Lijiang Tower, 115.68 meters to 115.67 meters on Esperanca, 3-1 on New Junk City and 1-0 on Circuit Royal.
Twisted Minds wound up in third place following a 3-1 victory over T1. After T1 opened with a 2-0 win on Lijiang Tower, Twisted Minds captured Circuit Royal 3-0, Aatlis 3-0 and Eichenwalde 3-2.
In the semifinals earlier on Sunday, Team Falcons downed T1 3-1. Team Falcons jumped on top by taking Busan 2-1 and Circuit Royal 3-0. T1 extended the match with a 3-2 win on Aatlis before Team Falcons sealed a finals berth by claiming Colosseo 137.03 meters to 24.19 meters.
Al Qadsiah was a 3-2 winner over Twisted Minds in the other semifinal. After Twisted Minds prevailed 2-1 on Lijiang Tower, Al Qadsiah took Aatlis 3-2 and Circuit Royal 1-0. Twisted Minds claimed Colosseo 97.41 meters to 38.89 meters, and the teams drew 3-3 on Blizzard World. Al Qadsiah wrapped up the victory with a 3-0 triumph on New Junk City.
