OVERWATCH News: Fuel brush off Seoul Infernal in OWL East Summer clash

The Dallas Fuel swept Seoul Infernal on Friday to gain sole possession of first place in the Overwatch League Summer Stage qualifiers in the East Region.

The Fuel posted 2-1 wins on Oasis, Midtown and Dorado to hand Seoul Infernal their first loss of the qualifiers.

Also on Friday, Hangzhou Spark notched a 3-0 sweep of Poker Face and Seoul Dynasty secured a 3-2 victory over Dreamers.

The Spark seized a 2-0 victory on Ilios, a 5-4 triumph on Numbani and a 1-0 win on Watchpoint: Gibraltar.

The Dreamers sandwiched a 2-0 victory on Antarctic Peninsula and a 1-0 win on Route 66 around a 2-1 setback on Eichenwalde before coming back with a flourish. Seoul secured a 1-0 triumph on Esperanca and 2-0 victory on Lijiang Tower.

East Region qualifying runs through Aug. 6. All matches are best-of-five in a single round-robin format, with all 10 teams moving on to the Summer Stage Knockouts. Matches between the three teams based in South Korea (Fuel, Dynasty, Infernal) will all be offline.

Summer Stage qualifying action in the West resumes Friday with three matches:
–Los Angeles Gladiators vs. London Spitfire
–Boston Uprising vs. Los Angeles Valiant
–Atlanta Reign vs. Florida Mayhem
