OVERWATCH News: ENCE earn two Overwatch wins at Esports World Cup

ENCE lost just one map while sweeping two matches on Wednesday as the Overwatch event at the Esports World Cup got underway in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In Group C, ENCE swept M80 3-0, then downed Bleed Esports 3-1.

Against M80, ENCE prevailed 2-0 on Busan, 1-0 on Dorado and 3-1 on New Junk City.

Bleed Esports opened with a 2-0 triumph on Lijiang Tower before ENCE captured the next three maps: 3-0 on Shambali Monastery, 3-2 on Suravasa and 72.24 meters to 63.36 meters on Colosseo.

The results only leave ENCE tied for first in their group, however, as ZETA DIVISION also won twice, beating Bleed Esports and M80 by 3-1 scores.

Virtus.pro sit atop Group D after logging a 3-1 victories over Fnatic and Spacestation Gaming. In other Group D action, Spacestation defeated NTMR 3-1 before NTMR edged Fnatic 3-2.

The teams in Groups A and B all played just once on Thursday.

The Toronto Ultra got past Gaimin Gladiators 3-1 while Crazy Raccoon thrashed ROC Esports 3-0 in Group A.

In Group B, Team Falcons hammed Mkers 3-0, and Twisted Minds pounded LGD.OA 3-0.

The 16 teams in the $1.05 million tournament are divided into four groups for a round robin of best-of-five matches. The top three teams in each group move into the playoffs, with the group winners earning byes.

The single-elimination playoffs start on Friday, with all matches best-of-seven.

The winning team will receive $400,000 and 1,000 Esports World Cup Club Championship points. The runner-up will get $160,000 and 600 EWC Club Championship points.

The group phase concludes Thursday with 12 matches:
